How long should I stay in Thailand for Breast Implants surgery?

How is surgery performed?
Breast augmentation in Phuket involves the incision around the areola, at the armpit, or at the inferior breast folds depending on the surgeon’s recommendation and patient’s choice. The implant will be inserted into a pocket either submuscular or subglandular placements. After the implant has been inserted, the incisions are closed. Breast augmentation takes about 1-2 hours. Though there are different implant types available, our surgeons in Phuket prefer to use silicone implant.
What kind of anesthesia will be used?
Breast augmentation cosmetic surgery in Phuket is generally performed under general anesthesia.
What is the pre and post-surgical care?
You will be required to stop smoking, taking any medications and Vitamin, and drinking alcohol for 2 weeks prior to surgery to reduce risks and complications during an operation. After breast augmentation, proper massage technique will be advised by our surgeon to avoid capsular contracture. Strenuous activities including lifting or pushing anything heavy should be avoided for 3-4 weeks. The surgeon will tell you everything you need to know about post-surgery recovery and it is important that you follow his advice closely to ensure optimal healing.
How is the incision and scar?
The incision of breast augmentation cosmetic surgery done by our surgeons in Phuket is usually placed around armpit called the transaxillary incision by using an endoscope. However, large silicone implants might not be allowed to place through this incision. The scar is well hidden but it will be visible in women with olive or brown skin.
What are the possible risks and complications?
The most common complication of breast augmentation cosmetic surgery is capsular contracture which causes the breast to feel hard and unnatural. However, our surgeons here prefer using rough textured implant to prevent this complication. Meticulous sterile technique during surgery and massage technique after surgery can help prevent this complication as well. Also, oversensitive or undersensitive nipples may also occur in some women but it usually disappears within a few weeks. Pregnancy may alter the results of breast surgery, so it is important to discuss your options with the plastic surgeon if you are considering having a baby in the future. Another possible risks include implant displacement and deflation. However, leaking of silicone filled implants may only be noticeable with an MRI scan or ultrasound. Therefore, it is advised that women with silicone breast implants have their implants regularly scanned. These risks of complications can be reduced if you follow the surgeon’s advice strictly.
